Happy 4th of July. I will happily do absolutely nothing today.

So I was watching that LX TV thing and they were talking about different places to visit, here in New York. Then I got all nostalgic. Summer of 2007. The Lower East Side was my home. I worked at Veniero's, an Italian bakery. So I guess that's the reason why I was in LES almost everyday. There's so much culture in that area, it's hard to get bored. With St. Mark's Place down the block, you'll never run out of places to buy cheap music, useless trinkets, souvenirs, sunglasses, or even bongs and sex toys if you're into that sort of thing. You'd just have to hustle the street vendors and talk them down for a better price. And the food. Oh my goodness.... Everything from frozen yogurt, endless Japanese restaurants, $1 pizza slices, bubble tea, chocolate restaurants/bars, dumpling houses, famous deli's and enough lounges to occupy every socialite's night for the whole summer. Oh and I will never forget all the concert and shows I went to. Nowadays I wish I had the time for these things. That summer was all about friends, food and my last year of being a teenager. The only reason why I worked is so I could have money to go out with my friends.

In 3 years, a lot has changed. I've grown up, and probably still have a lot of growing up to do. It's just nice to look back and see how much so many aspects of my life has evolved- relationships, friendships, attitude, style, ethics, aesthetics, and most of all, self-perception. A lot of people mistake me for being conceited, narcissistic or aloof. I just know who I am. I am a leader, not a follower. I know this now, more than ever.
Then.
And now.
